SV Friedrichstadt's 1st team drew 5:5 at home against Olympischer SC II in the District League D, a result that reflected the level of play. After losing both doubles matches, our players had to fight back – and they did so impressively: Wolfgang Wießler swept his opponent off the table with a straight 11:2, 11:7, 11:2 victory, and Felix Nicklaus and Marius Fahrner also won convincingly in their opening singles. In the second round, Tom Hirche showed nerves of steel: with sets of 11:5, 4:11, 10:12, 11:5, 13:11, he won a spectacular five-set thriller against Marley Collin Okoe and secured the equalizer. With a total of 23:20 sets, we had control of the match for large stretches, but couldn't finish the job.
